Your profile, set once
You can tell ELLA your preferences in your own words, or select them manually. Five things are stored on your profile:
- Diet
- Vegetarian, Halal, Keto, Vegan…
- Allergies
- Nuts, Dairy, Gluten, Shellfish
- Avoid Ingredients
- Ingredients you don’t like
- Spice Preference
- Mild, Medium, Hot
- Other Preferences
- Cooking style, texture, etc

- Open the camera and photograph a paper menu. This is how ELLA works at a venue that is not on ELLA.
Allergies and diets
ELLA checks each dish against the allergies and diets on your profile and tells you what it found. It does not decide how serious your allergy is — you grade that yourself, and the grade decides how hard the warning insists.

A dish the venue has filled nothing in for is not called safe. ELLA says so instead:

At the table
When you sit down and scan the Location QR, you join a live session for that table.
Show your QR or live cart. The waiter instantly sees your session, requests allergies and split bill.
Everyone at the table can suggest dishes, vote, and build the meal together. The bill can be split — the table total, your tab and other tabs are shown separately, and you can take all of it, only the items you picked, or an amount you type in.
On paying. ELLA sends your waiter a payment request — card / POS terminal, or cash. In the app’s own words: “This tells your waiter what to bring. No payment is processed in the app.”
